Book Review: Twits and the Thinking Machine: A Steampunk Distraction

Twits and the Thinking Machine: A Steampunk Distraction (The Twits Chronicles Book 9)Twits and the Thinking Machine: A Steampunk Distraction by Tom Alan Robbins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read every Twits story to date, I was delighted to learn that a new book had arrived and I pounced on it immediately. Knowing that author Tom Alan Robbins had taken on the timely topic of AI, I braced for a rousing lampoon of our current digital mortal enemy. I was not disappointed. In fact, the current state of AI is so ludicrous that Robbins’ parody almost reads as a documentary… almost. He’s taken those tired, cliche phrases that AI spits out and sharpens them into fine skewers with which to stab those servers lurking in the data centers right in the algorithms. It’s a cathartic read for anyone who’s just about had it with machines eager to replace our brain cells. And of course it’s over-the-top hilarious, too, because it’s Twits!

Lori Alden Holuta lives between the cornfields of Mid-Michigan, where she grows vegetables and herbs when she’s not writing, editing, or playing games with a cat named Chives.
