Book Review: Tell No One

Tell No One: Book One in the Nora Nash SeriesTell No One: Book One in the Nora Nash Series by R. J. Dawkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I didn’t expect to become so immersed in daily life on Ocracoke Island, off the North Carolina coast. But these things happen. It didn’t take long for me to bond with Nora, a successful New York entrepreneur who spent her childhood summers on the island with her aunt. But now, those idyllic memories have been shoved aside in favor of a murder mystery that hits Nora WAY too close. I won’t give away any plot, as it’s delightful to let this well-told story unfold fresh for your eyes.

I will mention the excellent writing, especially when a descriptive phrase is called for. I feel as if I’ve truly spent time on Ocracoke now. I’ve experienced the storms a small town on an east coast island must often put up with, I’ve enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of charming little touristy shops, my foodie tendencies have been well-fed from Nora’s welcoming kitchen, and I’ve explored the ancient, three-story house Nora lives in, one creaky floorboard and one daunting stairstep at a time.

If there was ever a perfect cozy for curling up in front of a fire with a cat and a hot mug of something comforting, this is that book!

Lori Alden Holuta lives between the cornfields of Mid-Michigan, where she grows vegetables and herbs when she’s not writing, editing, or playing games with a cat named Chives.
