Book Review: Fluffy & Friends
Fluffy & Friends: The Feelings Parade: A story about friendship and feelings for little hearts by Fluffy & Friends
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Feelings Parade is a sweet book filled with happy, vibrant illustrations of animals helping each other. The book serves multiple purposes; it starts with a story about a parade that the animals will be in, with a focus on the animals insecurities, and how their friends rally around them to help them rise above their nervousness to have a great time in the parade.
Once the story is told, there are a series of activity pages for children. They are encouraged to draw pictures to represent their own feelings, some coloring pages, simple but fun games, and a few pages intended to get a child into journaling. Once they’ve filled up the pages in this book, they may want to continue journaling on their own.
This book was clearly created with love for children and a wish to nurture them. There’s one issue with the layout that should be easy to address if the publisher can do it – in the initial story, the white font blends in with the background quite often. It literally melts away and is difficult to read. If that can be rectified, this would be a perfect little gem.
