I absolutely love Craig Ferguson. He’s flawed, clumsy, brilliant, energetic, talented and an idiot, all at the same time and I simply cannot look away.
Of course I wanted to read his autobiography. I knew he’d been a wild child in his younger days, so I felt I was prepared for those antics. I was not prepared for those antics. I now am awestruck that Craig is still alive. Amazed he even made it to adulthood, really. The story of Craig’s life is a rollercoaster ride and at the peak of that climb I dearly wanted to toss the book aside rather than watch him sabotage himself yet again… but I couldn’t. And I’m glad I didn’t. Once he got sober, his story became lighter, clearer – still filled with terrible choices, but those decisions came from a different place now.
Do I recommend this book to others? I’m not sure. I’d need to know more about those readers before asking them to willingly take this journey. But I will say I am glad I stayed with it to the end. Thanks for surviving everything, Craig, I for one am glad you did.
