My Books,  My Poetry

The Perfect Book to Celebrate Bad Poetry Day?

Yep, today is Bad Poetry Day.  I chose today to release my own book of poetry because that’s how my sense of humor works. Anyway, it is now LIVE and you can buy Parlor Poetry: A Victorian Versification Abecedary in hardback, paperback, or eBook. It’s only on Amazon (for now) due to the need to print in good quality color for all the interior artwork.

The Amazon rankings for day one are amusing me: #334 in Puns & Word Play Humor and #960 in 19th Century World History.

If you want to help Parlor Poetry rise in those ranks and be as successful as possible, here are some easy ways you can help give it a boost.

  • Give it a star rating at Amazon and Goodreads.
  • Leave a review at Amazon and Goodreads (and other bookish sites if you use them). Remember, a review does not have to be an essay. It can be one sentence! It can be three words! Every review helps keep a book in public view. It’s a sad fact of life but books without reviews quickly fall out of the limelight.
  • Mention it in your social media (with a link to buy!) Suggested hashtags: #ParlorPoetry #Brassbright #Poetry #Books #BookRecommendations #BookLovers #BookReview #BookCommunity #AmReading #VictorianEra #History #ReadersOfInstagram #BookSky #ReaderSky #BookTok
  • If you have a blog or website, consider a short post about it.
  • Tell your friends about it.
  • Ask your local library to stock it.
  • Ask your local independent bookstore to stock it.
  • Tell your book club about it.
  • Remember, books make excellent gifts, and are MUCH easier to wrap than kitchen appliances.
