Book Review: Woodland Whimsy: A Monochrome Coloring Book of Relaxing Forest Scenes
Woodland Whimsy: A Monochrome Coloring Book of Relaxing Forest Scenes: Featuring Botanical Themes and Folk Art Inspired Illustrations: One-Color … for Adults & Teens by Kozakura Coloring Books
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Clearly I’ve been living under a rock as I wasn’t aware of monochromatic coloring books, until now. I love the idea. I’m a “completionist” who takes satisfaction in finishing a project, so it’s absolutely my cup of tea. These 50 coloring pages provide the skeleton of a scene for you to flesh out, using marking pens and/or regular pens. There’s no need to invest in art supplies, just use any marking pens you already have. See? There’s no stress. The concept is to fully immerse in the coloring process, which lets your worries slide to the background for a while.
Note the warning to slide a piece of paper or plastic behind the drawing you’re working on. Applying that much marker ink is going to bleed through, that’s a given! And you just might create something you want to frame and keep, you never know. Get a copy, grab a pen, and enjoy.
