Book Review: The Little Book of Living Small
The Little Book of Living Small by Laura Fenton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
As a retired woman, I often think about what my future living situation might look like once this house becomes too much to handle. I’ve thought a lot about a tiny apartment. Most of what I’ve watched or read on the topic deals with tiny homes, set off by themselves. I don’t want the responsibility of tending to the land, or feeling vulnerable to weather conditions and unwanted visitors.
What sets this book apart is that, first of all and most important to me, the main focus is on apartment life. The examples shared with us are practical, functional, and best of all, lived in. A few of them were messy, in that way that living a life in a space will happen. I felt like I had been invited over to spend time with the residents, and enjoyed hearing their individual takes on tiny living. They also passed along many tips and tricks that I’ll remember when the time is right for me!
