Book Review: Susie’s Day at the Farm

Susie's Day at the FarmSusie’s Day at the Farm by Patrice Wilkerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Such a cute, upbeat, uncomplicated book! I felt like I’d taken a trip to the farm myself. If you have a wee one who’s old enough to appreciate playful words written in a rhyming manner, this would be ideal to read out loud to them while they enjoy the cheerful illustrations.

It’s Fall (at least where I am), and I could see this book being a lead-in to a child’s first outing to a farm, or perhaps a local cider mill.

Everything about it is positive and happy. It’s a short read, perfect for shorter attention spans. What a fun way to set a mood, even if it’s just to go outside in the back yard and “play farm”.

Lori Alden Holuta lives between the cornfields of Mid-Michigan, where she grows vegetables and herbs when she’s not writing, editing, or playing games with a cat named Chives.
