My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Recently I read Chair Exercises for Seniors by author M.T. Groom, and really got a lot out of it. When I saw that he’d also published Steady & Strong: Balance Exercises for Seniors Over 60 I quickly grabbed it, confident it would be as well-organized, encouraging, and practical as its companion book.

I wasn’t wrong. I’m getting even more out of this book, since I have been “clumsy” my entire life. Even as a child, I couldn’t seem to avoid falls and injuries. As an adult, I had the unfortunate experience of falling down a flight of stairs (nothing broke, just huge bruises). I would not wish such events on anyone.

If you or a loved one has balance issues, or is a weak walker, you need the guidance and exercises in this book. There’s plenty of encouragement along the way, too. We only get one life… let’s walk through it with grace and confidence!

Lori Alden Holuta lives between the cornfields of Mid-Michigan, where she grows vegetables and herbs when she’s not writing, editing, or playing games with a cat named Chives.
