Book Review Policy
BOOK REVIEW POLICY CHANGE
Effective 10/27/2025
For many years I've reviewed books upon request, for free. I've enjoyed helping authors improve their book's visibility and rankings with my reviews.
But I am also an author. And while I've been reviewing all those books, very few people are reviewing mine. My latest book released on August 18th, with a text and video campaign across eight social media platforms, recruiting of First Readers who promised reviews, newsletter announcements, press release sent, and more... the result? Two reviews at Amazon and four at Goodreads. That trickle of reviews was not enough and now a book I really sweated over has dropped into the online basement.
It's happened before and it will happen again. A change is needed. As authors, we need to always be ready to pivot. I've joined Revvue and have listed my books in their system. Their strategy is brilliant - I get reviews when I give reviews. It's balanced. It's fair. It's a win/win for authors. I will no longer be accepting unsolicited review requests outside of the Revvue system.
Thank you for understanding. The world wasn't always like this, but this is where we are today.
Cheers and may your book soar,
Lori Alden Holuta (Ceejay Writer)
