Book Review: Poo and Order
Poo and Order: A Funny and Educational Children’s Book about Truth, Fairness, and Learning the Difference Between Fact and Fiction by Angeli Fitch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
A crime has been committed in Mrs. McPoodles rose garden! There’s poop on the roses! She’s accused Katori, a local Pitbull of taking an illegal relief break. But did he do it? If not, who did? Can this crime be solved? This stinky situation might make grown-ups shudder, but hey, we were all kids once. And I’ll say it out loud, kids love scatological humor.
And when the kids are paying attention and engaged with a story, that’s the perfect opportunity to slip in a real-life lesson on the importance of truth and justice, fact vs. fiction. Kids will learn from what may be their first experience with a courtroom drama. Knowing not to judge others without having all the facts is a skill everyone needs.
The illustrations are well done, which helps kids quickly bond with the characters in this… crappy situation!
